INTRODUCTION

Seesaw is an application that empowers students of any age to independently document what they are learning at school.

Students capture learning with photos and videos of their work, or by adding digital creations. Everything gets organized in one place and is accessible to teachers from any device.

Student work can be shared with classmates, parents, or published to a class blog. Seesaw gives students a real audience for their work and offers parents a personalized window into their child's learning.

The following two videos help to showcase the product:

1. Video: Classroom App is Keeping Parents Involved (Brantley, 2015)

2, Video: Technology in the Classroom Featuring Mrs. Biscorner's 1st Graders (Repp, 2016)

This Wix website  is designed to explore what Seesaw does, who is Seesaw, and finally to analyse Seesaw’s potential as an investment.  Please use the headings above to explore this site.

ANALYSIS

The learning applications for education is a large market. As can be seen from the Competition section of this website, multiple companies are providing similar applications and experiences and are competing to corner their section of the market.  Seesaw is not unique in its focus on education. However, adding this focus has differentiated the company from many of the ventures out there.  Seesaw is most popular in America, Canada, and Australia, as it is American-based.

Seesaw is estimated to be worth $16 billion dollars. The company even sell their own shirts! The application works on a variety of platforms from ioS devices to android devices, to Chromebooks, and even Kindlefire.

Ambassadors are available all over the world to help you get set up with an account, whether it be free or paid. Helpful videos are available at http://help.seesaw.me/hc/en-us for geting started, getting ideas, FAQ, or hearing stories from teachers.

Schools can keep track of portfolios of their students from grades K-12, administrators can get real-time insights into the school, and centralized set-up and management ca school-wide or even district-wide.

Unfortunately, I don't think that Seesaw will be able to keep up with other companies that have Canadian-based curriculum (like Google Classroom) or those that offer their services free-of-charge (such as Google Classroom, Class Dojo, or WeLearned.it).  I also think that their promotional video needs some work.

However, what is truly unique abot Seesaw is how it motivates students to create and maintain digital learning portfolios continnuously from grades K-12.

In my expert Educational Venture Analyst (EVA) position, I I feel that Seesaw is a wise investment for Canadian school boards.
